3 Kids Break Through The Ice In Little Canada

LITTLE CANADA, Minn. (WCCO) -- Three children who broke through the ice on a drainage pond Saturday morning in Little Canada are believed to not have life-threatening-injuries, according to authorities.

Randy Gustafson of the Ramsey County Sheriff's Office said at about 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, an 8-year-old, an 11-year-old and a 12-year-old crawled under a fence and stepped onto a drainage pond near Big Circle Drive and Spruce Street in Little Canada.

The ice broke and they fell through, he said.

The father of two of the children pulled all three out, Gustafson said. All three are now at Regions Hospital in St. Paul.

While Gustafson said the children are extremely cold, their conditions are believed to be non-life-threatening.
