ST. CLOUD, Minn. (AP) — Johnny Brodzinski’s third-period goal lifted St. Cloud State to a 2-1 win over Nebraska-Omaha on Saturday.

Brodzinski scored at 10:45 of the third period to break a 2-2 tie and lift the Huskies (9-7-0, 7-5-0) to the win that earned them a split of their weekend Western Collegiate Hockey Association series. Nebraska-Omaha (10-5-1, 6-3-1) won Friday’s matchup 6-5.

Nic Jensen gave St. Cloud State a 1-0 lead midway through the first period, but Matt White tied it with a short-handed goal with nine seconds left to play in the period.

Ryan Faragher made 23 saves for the Huskies, while Anthony Stolarz had 26 saves for the Mavericks.
