BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (WCCO) — When it comes to ice in Minnesota, magical or “one-of-a-kind” doesn’t usually come to mind, but that’s exactly how a new, icy attraction on the way to the Twin Cities is being described.
The mall will be the site of the largest ice structure ever attempted by Ice Castles, LLC. They hope to build one that will stand more than 40 feet tall and span more than an acre.
Chris Stanford talked with ice castle creator Brent Christensen on Friday morning to find out just how they go about building these wintery structures. You can see his interview in the video above.
If the weather cooperates, the ice castle should open up right after Christmas and go through February.
Tickets will be $10 for adults and $5 for kids ages 3 to 12. A family four pack will be $25.
