ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) — A St. Paul man will be sentenced Monday afternoon in Ramsey County Court for running over a student outside of Harding Senior High School and killing her.
Clarisse Grime, 16, was sitting outside the school this past summer waiting for a bus with her boyfriend when she was struck and killed by an SUV driven by Carlos Viveros Colorado. Last month, a judge found him guilty of criminal vehicular homicide.
Colorado had said he had lost feeling in his arms and that’s what caused the crash. But Grime’s boyfriend and police testified that Colorado tried to drive away from the crash scene.
Sentencing guidelines call for a four-year prison sentence but defense attorneys will argue for a reduced sentence.
