CROW WING COUNTY, Minn. (WCCO) – A 53-year-old Merrifield man died Thursday morning in a crash involving his pick-up truck and a semi trailer in Crow Wing County, according to authorities.

The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s office said the incident took place at 11:19 a.m. on County Road 12, about 3 miles west of Deerwood, Minn.

The Merrifield man, whose identity is being withheld until family members have been notified, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi, 47-year-old William Hanson, of Cloquet, Minn., was treated and released.

The Minnesota State Patrol is still investigating.
