Waconia School Evacuated After Fire Set In Bathroom

WACONIA, Minn. (AP) — Authorities say a smoky fire set in a men's bathroom forced the evacuation of a Twin Cities area high school.

The Carver County sheriff's office says someone set fire to three rolls of toilet paper in the restroom at Waconia High School. Crews were called after someone reported smoke coming from the restroom around 10:15 a.m. Monday.

The school was evacuated. The Waconia Fire Department put the fire out with a fire extinguisher and ventilated the area.

No one was hurt, but the bathroom was damaged. The fire is under investigation.
