MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minnesota wrestling coach J Robinson is not traveling with the team this weekend for dual meets with Ohio State and Indiana because of a knee infection.
The university made the announcement on Thursday, one day before the fourth-ranked Golden Gophers were scheduled to take on the fifth-ranked Buckeyes in Columbus, Ohio. The Gophers face Indiana on Sunday.
The Gophers say Robinson is “very disappointed” that he will be missing both meets this weekend. He says he looks forward to being back coaching the Gophers when the infection is cleared up.
Robinson is in his 27th season with the Gophers. He’s won three national championships at Minnesota.
