MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Minnesota Timberwolves announced Thursday morning that head coach Rick Adelman has missed the last two games to be with his wife, Mary Kay, who has been in the hospital.
Team officials gave no further detail on why she is in the hospital. Officials said his status with the team remains day-to-day and he will return to the team as soon as possible. Until he is back with the team, assistant coach Terry Porter will remain the team’s active head coach.
The Timberwolves are 1-1 in Adelman’s absence. They lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder 106-84 Wednesday night and beat the Atlanta Hawks 108-103 on Tuesday.
