SUPERIOR, Wis. (AP) — Superior police are investigating a report of a man impersonating a police officer.
A citizen called 911 Monday to ask about a traffic stop. The caller reported being approached by a man wearing a Superior Police Department baseball cap, dark dress pants and a navy blue T-shirt labeled “SPD.”
The man, who identified himself as “Officer Darg,” is white, about 6 feet tall in his mid 30s with a light mustache and beard. The caller did not see a police badge or firearm.
He was driving a blue car, similar to a Chevrolet Lumina, with flashing blue-and-red lights on the dashboard. The caller cooperated with the man and was released.
Superior police do not have an “Officer Darg” and have no record of any officer making the traffic stop.
