HOUGHTON, Mich. (AP) — Michigan Tech freshman goalie Pheonix Copley made 25 saves Friday as the Huskies shut out Bemidji State 4-0 in the Western Collegiate Hockey League.
Copley made a game-high nine stops in the third period. He held the Beavers (5-12-4, 4-8-3) scoreless on four power plays.
Blake Pietila scored two goals and assisted on another for the Huskies (7-13-3, 4-10-3). Malcolm Gould had a goal and an assist and Brad Stebner assisted on two goals.
David Johnstone chipped in the other goal for Michigan Tech.
Bemidji State goalie Andrew Walsh made 15 stops in the first period and 28 saves overall.
