DULUTH, Minn. (AP) — Eriah Hayes had a trick and assisted on a goal to lead Minnesota State, Mankato to a 5-1 win over Minnesota-Duluth.
Hayes scored three times on the power play, twice in the third period in Saturday’s Western Collegiate Hockey Association game. The Mavericks were 3-for-6 with a man advantage.
Zack Lehrke, Teddy Blueger and Hayes scored first-period goals for the Mavericks (18-9-3, 12-9-1), who swept the two-game series. Lehrke, Blueger and Hayes also scored in the third period on Friday as Minnesota State, Mankato rallied to beat Minnesota-Duluth 4-2.
Lehrke had a goal and an assist and Matt Leitner assisted on three goals.
Stephon Williams made 34 saves. He allowed only Tony Cameranesi’s goal in the second period.
