MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A 45-year-old man has died in a fatal rollover just north of Paynesville Saturday, according to the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office.
The Sheriff’s Office says deputies were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash at 11:29 p.m. with injuries. An investigation revealed that a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling south bound on County Road 195 in Zion Township when it left the roadway, rolled on its side and landed in a drainage ditch.
The driver was ejected out of the passenger side window. He was not wearing a seat belt, the Sheriff’s Office said.
The victim, identified as Darrin John Schaefer of Paynesville, was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The crash is still under investigation.
