SPRING LAKE PARK, Minn. (WCCO) – Two people were able to escape their Spring Lake Park townhouse after a fire broke out in the building overnight.

The incident happened just before 11 p.m. Sunday on the 1300 block of Crown Oaks Drive.

When crews arrived on the scene, the garage door was partially caved in and the fire was spreading up the townhouse to the second floor.

The couple and their dog made it out safely.

Firefighters were able keep the fire from spreading to the other eight attached townhouses.

Crews haven’t said yet what may have started the blaze, but it’s believed the fire started in the garage.
