ALEXANDRIA, Minn. (WCCO) – A 47-year-old woman was airlifted to Hennepin County Medical Center after she was involved in a snowmobile accident.

On Saturday evening, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of an accident near the 15900 block of County Road 3 in Spruce Hill Township, Minn.

Authorities said Kelly Irish was driving her snowmobile when she slid off the vehicle while passing through an open-gated area.

Authorities said Irish struck the gate as she was sliding off, causing internal injuries.

She was taken to the Douglas County Hospital before being airlifted to HCMC. Her current condition was not immediately reported.
