MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A popular bar on Minneapolis’ Nicollet Mall can now boast being the world’s biggest seller of Newcastle Brown Ale draft.

Brit’s Pub is that bar, and it’s doing more than just boasting – it’s celebrating.

According to the pub’s general manager, Shane Higgins, Brit’s is holding a party on March 1.

Starting a 4 p.m., Newcastle pints will go for $2 and there will be free commemorative T-shirts for the first 250 guests. At 6 p.m., there will be trivia, and at 8 p.m., a Beatles tribute band will play.

There will also be free tastings throughout the evening, and the presentation of a plaque by a Newcastle representative.

So if you were looking for a reason to rejoice with world’s best-known brown ale, you’ve got one.

Brit’s is located near the intersection of 11th Street and Nicollet Mall – just a stone’s throw from WCCO-TV.
