MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Gov. Dayton has ordered flags to be lowered at half-staff Friday in honor of a fallen St. Paul police officer.

Josh Lynaugh, 30, died last Saturday. He had been hospitalized since he suffered a heart attack during a foot chase earlier this month.

During his five years with the St. Paul Police Department, Lynaugh earned several awards. A memorial will be held Friday at the Cathedral of St. Paul. Visitation for Lynaugh will be held from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Mueller Parkway Chapel in St. Paul.

Officer Lynaugh will be buried with full police honors.

Officials said Thursday that several streets around the Cathedral of St. Paul will be closed Friday from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. in respect to the funeral services. Summit Avenue will be closed between Western and Marshall Avenues, Selby Avenue will be closed between Western and Summit Avenues and Dayton Avenue will be closed between North Farrington Street and Summit Avenue.
