MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Rachel Banham scored with .02 seconds left in regulation to lead the University of Minnesota women’s basketball team to a 57-56 win at Ohio State Thursday night.
Banham finished with 17 points, eight rebounds and two assists at the Gophers improved to 16-11 on the season and 5-8 in Big 10 Conference play. It was Minnesota’s first win at Ohio State since Jan. 15, 2009. It also completes a season sweep for the Gophers over the Buckeyes.
Micaella Riche added 17 points, five rebounds, two assists and a steal for the Gophers in the win. Minnesota limited Ohio State to 31 percent shooting from the field in the game.
The Gophers host Purdue at noon Sunday at Williams Arena.
