MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The world’s most famous sled dog race is off and running.
And this year, Cindy Gallea, from Wykoff, Minn., is among those competing in the Iditarod.
Gallea, a nurse practitioner, has been racing sled dogs for 25 years. This is her 11th Iditarod, and she’ll be alongside 66 others who are aiming for the $50,000 first place prize.
Her son Jim, 32, is an Iditarod veteran, too.
