MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Gophers men’s basketball team had a big week with a stunning 77-73 win over No. 1-ranked Indiana on Tuesday, then dominated Penn State 73-44 on Saturday, Senior Day, at Williams Arena.

The two victories all but lock up an NCAA Tournament bid for the Gophers (20-9, 8-8), who finish the regular season at Nebraska Wednesday and at Purdue Saturday before heading to Chicago for the Big 10 Tournament. Former Gopher great Kevin Lynch appeared on Rosen’s Sports Sunday to talk about the squad and their postseason chances.

Lynch was on the last Gophers squad that beat a No. 1-ranked team when they beat Illinois in 1989. He’s now an analyst for the Timberwolves on Fox Sports North.
