Minnesota Grown To Present Farmers' Market Data

WAITE PARK, Minn. (AP) — Farmers market managers and vendors from across Minnesota gather in Waite Park on Thursday for the Minnesota Farmers' Market Association's Spring Conference.

The Minnesota Department of Agriculture says they'll be the first to hear the results of customer research conducted by the department's Minnesota Grown Program.

Last summer the Minnesota Grown Program conducted a customer survey at 57 farmers markets throughout the state. More than 1,100 customers participated.

Program Coordinator Paul Hugunin says the research will help growers better understand which services and products are most important to their customers, and help them target their marketing resources.

The conference runs all day Thursday at the American Legion in Waite Park.
