Blackduck Man Indicted For Drunk-Driving Death

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A Blackduck man was indicted last Tuesday in connection with the drunk-driving death of a young woman in Redby last October.

Twenty-seven-year-old Dustin Michael Johnson was charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter connected to the crash on Oct. 23 that killed his female passenger near Lower Red Lake.

The indictment says Johnson killed the woman without malice when he crashed his vehicle on Highway 15 in the Red Lake Indian Reservation while under the influence of alcohol.

Johnson faces a maximum of eight years in prison if convicted.

The case was a joint investigation by the Red Lake Tribal Police Department and the FBI.
