Bon Jovi Giving 6 Augsburg Students The Rock-Star Treatment

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Next Sunday, Bon Jovi will be rocking the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.

And the rock star will be saluting six Augsburg College students as part of the evening, because as part of his "Because We Can" tour, Bon Jovi is honoring these students for honoring others.

Vietnam native Thu Nguyen reaches out to other international students. Alom Martinez helps fix up homes. Andrea Batt spends time with youth through after school programs. James Mahowald talks to high school students about addiction, and Alex Jamieson assists with children achieving scholarships.

As a thank you, they all get to be recognized by being Bon Jovi's "Roadies for the Day."

"I know a lot of people back home who listen to Bon Jovi's music, so they'll be jealous," Alom Martinez said.

And rightly so, because of what they've given, the rock star treatment is what they'll be getting.

The students will meet with band members next weekend.
