MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Tyus Jones is one of the most sought after high school basketball players in the country, and he still has one prep season left.
Jones led Apple Valley to a state championship with a team that will have several players back next year. He’s currently the top point guard in the nation and the No. 2 player overall in the 2014 recruiting class. He has seven schools left on his list that he’s interested in attending, and the University of Minnesota is one of them.
He sat down with WCCO-TV’s David McCoy to talk about new Gophers coach Rich Pitino, what he’s looking for in a college coach and program and the overall recruiting process. Jones is among three local high school juniors who are some of the top basketball recruits nationally.
