Crews Knock Down House Fire In S. Mpls; No One Hurt

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Firefighters knocked down a house fire Monday afternoon on the city's south side, authorities said.

The Minneapolis Fire Department said that just after noon it received a call about a fire on 2416 Bryant Ave. S.

In minutes, firefighters were on the scene, where they found flames showing from the second and third floors of the three-story house.

Firefighters first tried attacking the fire from inside the house, but they retreated due to the size of the fire.

After a second alarm was called, firefighters fought the flames from outside and then re-entered the house to finish the fight.

Authorities said no one was home when the fire started and that no one was hurt putting the fire out.

The fire is under investigation. No word was given as to how it might have started.
