NORTH MANKATO, Minn. (WCCO) – Police in North Mankato are investigating after a church reported that a chalice worth more than $2,000 had been stolen.

Police say the theft happened at the Holy Rosary Church late last week.

The chalice was described as having a rose-colored onyx stone ring around the lower portion of the cup. The chalice is about 6 or 7 inches tall and is made of sterling silver. It was handmade, police said.

Investigators say that anyone with information about the theft should contact them at 507-625-4141.
