Inside Minnesota: Silica Sand Storm (Part 4)

In St Charles, Minn., a sand production company is trying to build a plant on 300 acres of land, and residents there are afraid it will ruin their way of life.

It’s part of the Midwestern fight in many towns to slow down the growth of sand mines and production facilities.

Those against the sand mines want lawmakers to step in.

In part four of Inside Minnesota – and our conclusion to the series – WCCO’s Susie Jones talks to a lawmaker about what’s being done to answer citizens’ concerns.
