MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Authorities say they’ve located a 12-year-old boy from Duluth after he went missing Thursday afternoon.

Police said Lyrik James Schmelz was last seen getting on the bus after classes ended Thursday afternoon at Lincoln Park Middle School.

On Saturday, around 10:18 p.m., police received information on his possible whereabouts.

After investigating, officers located Schmelz inside an apartment on the 600 block of E. 1st Street, in the presence of a family member.

Schmelz was uninjured and in good health. The Duluth Police Department would like to thank the public for assisting in locating the young boy.
