Twins Call Up Colabello, Put Plouffe On DL
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Minnesota Twins announced Wednesday they've selected the contract of Chris Colabello from AAA Rochester.
The Twins made the move after placing infielder Trevor Plouffe in the seven-day disabled list with concussion symptoms. He had to leave the game Tuesday night in a 5-4 loss in 10 innings to the Atlanta Braves after getting kicked in the head while trying to break up a double play.
They've also moved outfielder Darin Mastroianni on the 60-day disabled list. Mastroianni hasn't played a game for the Twins yet this season after injuring his ankle in Spring Training.
Colabello is hitting .358 for Rochester with 12 home runs, 17 doubles and 39 RBI while playing first base.
