MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Get ready to see more green. Nice Ride Minnesota is expanding with 24 more stations in the Twin Cities.

The bike share system announced its expansion efforts on Tuesday, which brings the total up to 170 stations and 1,550 bright green bikes.

Installations of the new stations have begun and should be completed by June 1. The group will kickoff the new expansion with a ride scheduled for 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 30 at Fort Snelling.

The expansion will place stations at Lake Nokomis, Minnehaha Park, areas along Lake Street and several other locations throughout south Minneapolis.

Nice Ride Minnesota launched in 2010 and provides a convenient, easy-to-use bike sharing system in the Twin Cities metro region.
