Twin Cities Ranked Most Fit Metro Area In The Nation

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – For the third year in a row, a major publication has ranked the Twin Cities as the most fit metropolitan area in the country.

USA Today reported Wednesday morning that the Twin Cities has been ranked No. 1 in the entire country for fitness from the American College of Sports Medicine. They look at health factors and also access to parks and recreation.

Researchers said Minneapolis spends double the amount of money on parks per capita as some other cities. Washington, D.C. was second, followed by Portland, Ore.

The cities at the bottom of this list of 50 cities were Detroit and Oklahoma City.
