Bachmann Not Ruling Out Run For Public Office

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Outgoing U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota is not ruling out a possible return to public office.

Bachmann gave her first interview Thursday night since her surprise announcement last week that she won’t seek re-election. The tea party favorite told Sean Hannity of Fox News Channel that she might run again for public office, but gave no specifics.

Bachmann says she’s “done everything possible” that she can on the inside. But she noted she has another year-and-a-half in Congress and “people won’t see me go away.”

Bachmann was a Republican presidential candidate but dropped out after finishing sixth in the Iowa caucuses last year. She eked out re-election to her 6th District seat in November.
