SHERBURNE COUNTY, Minn. (WCCO) – Authorities are investigating a murder-suicide that took place Friday afternoon in Sherburne County.

The Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office said it received a call about 1:30 p.m. Friday about Christopher Norrbom possibly having shot his wife, and threatening to shoot himself, too.

When officers arrived at the home on the 12300 block of 77th St. in Clear Lake Township, authorities were able to get 47-year-old Christopher Norrbom, of Clear Lake, on the phone.

A standoff ensued, and tactical teams from Sherburne County, Elk River Police and Anoka County were summoned to the scene.

Negotiations broke down, but SWAT officers were able to make limited entry into the attached garage and found the body of 47-year-old Janell Norrbom, also of Clear Lake.

At 6:41 p.m., authorities found the body of Christopher Norrbom inside the residence.
