MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities said two teenage girls west of the Twin Cities were hurt Thursday night when their car hit a horse.

The Minnesota State Patrol responded to the crash at about 11:26 p.m. Thursday on Highway 22 in McLeod County near Glencoe. When authorities arrived, they learned a 2008 Pontiac G5 Coupe was headed north on Highway 22 when a horse came out of the eastbound ditch.

The car carrying the two teenagers, 18 and 17-year-old girls from Hutchinson, hit the horse. The State Patrol said both teens suffered non-life threatening injuries. The Minnesota State Patrol was assisted at the scene by the McLeod County Sheriff’s Office and Glencoe Police.
