TURTLE LAKE, Wis. (WCCO) – Police are investigating after a car hit and killed a 79-year-old pedestrian Friday night in front of the St. Croix Casino in Wisconsin.

According to the Turtle Lake Police Department, Donald P. Hatalla, of Turtle Lake, died on the scene after a truck driven by 74-year-old Kenneth L. Bonner of Alemna hit him at about 10:16 p.m. Friday.

Police said alcohol wasn’t a factor, but believe rain and darkness contributed to the incident.
