Police: Taxi's Littered Floor Caused It To Crash Into Building

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Police in Columbia Heights say a taxi cab driver is recovering at a hospital Tuesday after his cab's gas pedal got stuck and he crashed into a building.

The cab ran into a building on 4111 Central Ave. around 3:30 p.m. The cab's driver, who was not identified, suffered minor injuries.

Police said the driver had things on the cab floor and that those things caused the gas pedal to get stuck.

No one in the building was injured. The scene was cleared out in about an hour.
