Police: Driver Arrested After Hitting Boy On Bike, Fleeing Scene
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 7-year-old boy is recovering in St. Paul after police say he was run over while riding his bike Tuesday by a driver who tried to flee the scene.
Police say they were able to find and arrest the driver at around 8 p.m., not long after the boy was hit near Payne Avenue and Bedford Street.
The driver – a woman who was not named -- was booked into Ramsey County Jail for fleeing the scene and suspicion of DWI.
The boy is in stable condition at Regions Hospital and is expected to survive.
