Police Need Help Finding Missing Man In Washington County

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities in Washington County said they are asking for the public's help to find a 76-year-old missing man after a search earlier this week was unsuccessful.

Radivoje "Ray" Novakovic was last seen at about 7 p.m. Sunday near the Fable Hills bridge in Hugo. About three hours later, he was reported missing. An organized search that lasted about 16 hours turned up nothing, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities said he is an avid walker who can sometimes go up to four miles at a time. Those searching are encouraged to check any places where he might have sought shelter, such as outbuildings, stored vehicles or watercraft. The Washington County Sheriff's Office received a report Monday that he was spotted in the northern area of White Bear Lake Township, but search efforts were unsuccessful.

Anyone with information on where Novakovic might be or who thinks they spot him is asked to call the Washington County Sheriff's Office at (651) 439-9381.
