Girl, 9, Accidentally Shot In Chest By Younger Brother

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A 9-year-old Oakdale girl is in the hospital after an accidental shooting early Friday evening, according to police.
Police say they responded at 6:33 p.m. to the shooting on the 1800 block of Helena Road. There, police located the victim in an upstairs living room. The girl had been accidentally shot in the upper chest by her 5-year-old brother.
The girl was alert and talking to officers before being taken to Regions Hospital where she remains in stable condition.
The case is being investigated by Oakdale Police.
