2 St. Paul Residents Killed In Dakota Co. Crash

CANNON FALLS, Minn. (WCCO) – Two people were killed in a car crash in Dakota County Saturday afternoon.

According to the State Patrol, 21-year-old Lui Thein was driving southbound on Hwy 52, just north of Cannon Falls. When turning eastbound onto 280th Street, Thein didn’t yield to northbound traffic and was broadsided 23-year-old Christina Chen of Rochester.

Both vehicles went into a ditch, and two of Thein’s passengers – La Yin and Naw Wah, both 48 – were ejected. They were both pronounced dead at the scene.

The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating.
