EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (WCCO) — At least one person was killed after being ejected from a speeding car in Eden Prairie, Minn. Thursday evening.
Authorities said the crash happened at the intersection of Eden Prairie Road and Park Terrace Drive at about 8 p.m.
A Chevrolet Corvette with two people inside left the road and crashed into two utility poles before rolling over. Both of the people inside were ejected.
Investigators say excessive speed likely played a role in the crash.
The driver and his passenger were taken to Hennepin County Medical Center. Authorities said one of the two was pronounced dead of his injuries there. The condition of the other was not immediately released, and the identities of neither person have been released.
A temporary power outage affected parts of Eden Prairie as a result of the struck utility poles.
