Weekend Road Closures, Detours For NW Twin Cities Suburbs

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Drivers traveling in the northwestern Twin Cities area should expect to encounter several road closures and detours this weekend, the Minnesota Department of Transportation announced Friday.

Beginning at 10 p.m. Friday, several roads are slated to close for the demolition of the Highway 252 Bridge decks and concrete pavement repair within the interchange.

The closed roads include the following:

• Northbound and southbound Highway 252 at Interstate 694 (southbound traffic detours south on Highway 100 to eastbound Interstate 394).

• Westbound Interstate 94 between I-394 and I-694 (detour west on I-394 to northbound I-494).

• Westbound I-694 at Hwy 100 (detour south on Hwy 100, west on I-394 and north on I-494).

MnDOT says all roadways will be open – weather permitting – by 5 a.m. Monday.
