DeLaSalle RB Williams Has Sights On State Title

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - Chris Williams is the talented and explosive running back from DeLaSalle High School in Minneapolis.

"I like to get to the end zone, so I just try everything to get to the end zone, every play," Williams said.

Walk him and you can see why teammates follow him. Williams didn't grow up privileged, and he did not forget where he grew up.

This is a young man who knows one speed: play hard, play fast and never let up.

"It takes hard work. You got to be committed to be a really good football player, and if you're committed, then you're going to play to the best of your abilities, no doubt," he said.

This young man is on the honor roll, and enjoys trying to turn potential into talent. He understands that he has a bright future, and understands nothing will be given to him.

There is that heart of a lion between the lines, and with it some lofty football goals for sure in 2013.

"We just expect to win state this year – that's our main goal for the football season," Williams said.

And yes, that's him doing the standing back flip in the Medica commercial!
