BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (WCCO) – Looking for a fun family activity outdoors, head to Bloomington Saturday for the Flying Colors Kite Festival.

The Minnesota Kite Society hosts the annual Flying Colors Festival as a celebration of this high flying toy.

You’ll see everything from the most basic model, to the more elaborate — they come in all colors, shapes and sizes.

All it takes is a little bit of wind to see it soar.

And sometimes there are even variations in how you fly the kite.

The event runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Valley View Middle School in Bloomington.

The first 125 people get a free kite.
