Environmentalists Leave Massive Post-It Note For 3M

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A very visible protest hung over the Mississippi River Monday in Minneapolis.

The conservation group ForestEthics hung a giant 40-foot post-it note from the Washington Avenue Bridge. The group is protesting what it calls 3M's link to the destruction of endangered forests worldwide.

ForestEthics wants to see 3M use more recycled paper, stop using eco-labels it claims are misleading, and generally clean up its environmental act.

University of Minnesota police arrested the two climbers who posted the giant note. They are being held, the conservation group says, on probable cause gross misdemeanor charges for trespassing on a public service facility.
