MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is playing Sunday at the Metrodome — just days after his 2-year-old son died, an apparent victim of a brutal beating at the hands of another man.
Before Peterson hit the field, fans were showing their support for AP during this difficult time.
“The first time I heard it, I just couldn’t believe it. It’s just sad, you know, who would do something like that you know what I mean?,” one fan said, going into the game.
Another called it a “wake-up” call to raise awareness about the problem of child abuse.
“Because it does happen all over, not just to one person,” the fan said.
Others said they hope Peterson channels his pain, and has great success in Sunday’s game.
