Washburn Names Perkins New Athletic Director
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Officials at Minneapolis Washburn High School said Tuesday they've officially named a new athletic director.
Reggie Perkins, a former basketball coach at both Washburn and North High Schools, will take over the Millers' athletic department. He was most recently the basketball coach at Bloomington Kennedy High School. Perkins is also the Career and College Center coordinator for AchieveMpls at Washburn, a post he's held since 2006.
Perkins previously coached Washburn to four Minneapolis City Conference titles, a 2009 Class 3A state title and a runner-up finish in 2011-12. In addition to playing at one time with the Harlem Globetrotters, Perkins also help co-found the Minneapolis Select summer basketball program.
Perkins takes over for Dan Pratt, who left Washburn earlier this summer.
