MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 21-year-old man is accused of robbing a woman and her daughter at knifepoint after they were done shopping Tuesday in St. Cloud, according to charges filed Wednesday in Stearns County.
Seth Crawford of St. Cloud was arrested and booked into the Stearns County Jail on suspicion of robbery and second-degree assault in connection with the incident, which happened near the Crossroads Shopping Center.
Police were called at about 7:20 p.m. Tuesday to a robbery in progress on the 100 block of 2nd Street South in St. Cloud. When authorities arrived, they learned a man, later identified as Crawford, approached the two victims and threatened them with a knife. Crawford then took items out of their car and fled the scene on foot.
An officer was in the area at the time of the incident and spotted Crawford a short time later. He was taken into custody and identified as the suspect by the victims.
Police said it’s a reminder for shoppers to be extra cautious during the holiday season and report anything suspicious to authorities.
St. Cloud Police and the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office said the incident is still under investigation.
