MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — The Minnesota Vikings announced the release of cornerback A.J. Jefferson after he was arrested for alleged domestic assault Monday morning.

According to Eden Prairie Police, a 23-year-old woman reported at 4:30 a.m. that she was a victim of a domestic assault. Police then arrested Jefferson, 25, at his residence on the 11900 Block of Tiffany Lane in Eden Prairie.

He is now being held without bail at the Hennepin County Jail.

The case is currently under investigation. No more information is available at this time.

Jefferson, who attended Fresno State University, is a 4-year veteran in the NFL. He played sparingly for the Vikings this season.
