1 Dead After Car Goes Off Bloomington Ferry Bridge

SHAKOPEE, Minn. (WCCO) -- One person was killed after losing control and plunging off the Bloomington Ferry Bridge Friday morning.

According to the State Patrol, the Buick LeSabre lost control on an icy patch of road while traveling southbound on Highway 169.

The car went over the guardrail, and dropped from 40 to 50 feet.

The driver, who has not yet been identified, was killed in the crash.

The State Patrol believes the crash happened during early morning hours, but was not reported until about 8:30 a.m.
