State Patrol: Chippewa County Crash Kills Marshall Woman
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 60-year-old woman from southwestern Minnesota was killed Thursday night in a head-on collision with a semi-truck, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
Authorities responded to the crash at about 8:55 p.m. Thursday on Highway 23, just north of Highway 7 in Chippewa County. The State Patrol said a semi-truck was headed northbound on Highway 23 when it lost control, jack-knifed and hit a 2001 Chevy Malibu head-on. The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.
The State Patrol identified the victim as Debra J. Griebel of Marshall. The driver of the semi was not hurt. Authorities are still investigating the crash, but said road conditions were icy at the time.
